“FGF has reminded me how to have fun in the midst of hard work…It has challenged my belief in myself. There is nothing worse than being the obstacle in your own path.”

Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

I've played team sports all my life, but after college I moved from California to Spokane and didn't feel confident to join a random team with random people. It's difficult for me to try new things. Thankfully, Michelle and Natasha invited me to try FGF. I had no idea what I was doing the first few times I attended. I truly appreciated the coaches and members who kept an eye on me and taught me proper form for lifts I had never done. There is genuine community here.

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishments so far?

Low key singing along to Finesse by Bruno Mars while doing 50 burpees.

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I'm thinking...

Sav better stop telling me to do things “unbroken” or we will have words.

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

The community, passion, inspiration, and tenacity of FGF. FGF has become a sacred place where seemingly minor accomplishments are celebrated. FGF has reminded me how to have fun in the midst of hard work. To the 6:30am crew and coaches, thank you.

How has the rest of your life been influenced/impacted by Farmgirlfit?

It has challenged my belief in myself. There is nothing worse than being the obstacle in your own path. Leanne incessantly yelling, “You can, you can, you can” speaks to the undiscovered potential within us.

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

Learning how to listen to understand and learning how to love well.

Words that inspire me:

“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn't require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.” Dr. Brene Brown
